Description
Including a drawing on the surface of a glass sheet, the experience of this piece changes dramatically as one moves around the object, with a mirrored interior creating a three dimensional abstract landscape.
It extends the previous works by Marcus Piper that use cutting edge techniques to render an abstract image in and on the surface of glass.
The work features a monochrome composition, which is animated and punctuated with colour by the environment it is placed within. Operating as its own image plane, the work also fragments and reflects the space it inhabits, reconfiguring temporally the world of the viewer. The image resolves as a refined graphical language, featuring geometric shapes that feel at once ancient and futuristic.
