Description
Syncopation II takes its name from a musical term that describes an unexpected shift in rhythm. Stackhouse brings this idea into sculpture, creating a form that feels both steady and surprising. The bronze surface, treated with a rich patina, gives the work a sense of permanence, while the piece hangs from a rope dyed with leaves from the Cherry Ballart tree, in a gesture that connects the work to the natural world. This combination of materials invites us to think about balance: between strength and delicacy, between human craft and ecological presence.
