Description
Most of the hand-built ceramic vessels and pedestals in this installation were completed by Frank during a recent residency in Mparntwe / Alice Springs. The works incorporate found metal elements, which often provide a starting point for form and narrative, and feature the patina-like glazes and mark-making that have characterised her work in recent years. Frank is interested in the spaces that emerge between objects, and how one form may be altered by its relationship to another. In these larger more technically ambitious works – which sit somewhere between object, artwork and furniture – she introduces new relationships between surface, form and spatial presence.
